Never Surrender to the Clock

Everyone is familiar with that last hour of work when you are mulling over how to spend the evening, trying to prioritize. Some days - like today - I just can't decide, I refuse to give in, and I attack the evening, squeezing every last moment from the clock. What do I want to do this evening? EVERYTHING. Should I take a motorcycle ride along the water and watch the sunset? Should I have dinner with Goldfish and talk about our days and discuss the election? Should I attack the mountain of homework on the desk and get caught up with on-line testing? Should I tune in to some Presidential Debate analysis? Should I transfer that batch of raspberry wheat to the secondary fermenter? Should I do some recreational reading? Should I take the time to blog before bedtime? YES. ALL OF IT. I REFUSE TO CHOOSE.

Sooooo, it's 1:15 in the morning and I need to get up in 4 hours . . . way to go hero . . . .

All I can say is "OMG"! I'm off to Disney for the weekend, so I'll have to catch up on your blogs next week. It will be hard to place this picture on my desktop today as I have the one of the TB and NW on it, but these pictures today are breathless. I really feel you are so lucky to have experienced the wonderful place you live and hope someday to get there!

Little Bro,
I think enjoying every breath is one of the necessities of life. It looks like your taking advantage of it all. Unfortunately, we do need to sleep. Take care of my little brother.
love ya

Too funny - there's an excellent book called just that - Refuse to Choose - you're not alone in that sentiment!

Wow! Alaska Steve, if I could see sunsets like that, I'd never get anything done! Suppose you're seeing them earlier every day now, too. Do you ever get to see the northern lights?

In the Sierra Nevada mountains, it is a BEAUTIFUL time of year, one of my absolute favorites!

BTW, as I instructed my wife, your expanded photos make great desktops! She loves them!

I know what you mean. I want to do EVERYTHING and often find myself trading sleep for productivity.
As a writer, that happens WAY too often.
I hope you get caught up on your sleep this weekend.

Lori, have fun at The Happiest Place On Earth - take lots of pictures!

Sis, I'm taking care, you know me! Love ya .. .

Laura, I think I need to put that ook in my Amazon cart after looking at it, it descries me perfectly!

Kathy, I've seen lots of northern lights when i lived on the Alaska mainland but out here I think we are too south and there is almost always cloud cover.

BZ, the grass is always greener, I could easily see myself using YOUR photos for my wallpaper!

Fizz, England has so much going for it, we hope to make it across the pond to watch the Olympics if we aren't all living in caves y then . . .

Jen, I don't think I could write if I was sleep deprived, I just stare blankly at the keyboard and drool when I'm like that!

That top photo is spectacular. I love the bird in the cornor and the color of that sunset and the waves and the balance of the 3 receding hills. Very nice!

Tonight, though, better choose sleep!

I only recently found your blog and am so glad I did! Your pictures are amazing, but they do stir up the wanderlust in my heart...lol!

I'm glad to know I am not the only one who refuses to give in to picking just one thing to do in the evening. Hope you get a few extra hours of sleep over the weekend, though.

Take care!
