Great photos, but not knowing you, I'm with B.Z.
Went through the same thing in February with our 15 year old sweet dog, Lucy. Feeling for you guys. It breaks your heart... Wishing you peace from far away.
My sincere condolences from California, Steve. Followed your blog for a year and a half now, and I understand how close you and Chico have been. Your photos are a testament to that bonding. May God bless and comfort you and Goldfish during this difficult time.
So sorry for your loss. We are praying for comfort for your family. The Davis Family, Mobile, Alabama
Sending love and big hugs, friends. Thinking of you.
Sorry if I didn't realize it, Steve. My condolences to you and Goldfish. Animals are a part of anyone's family and can be extremely important. I can remember how I felt a few years ago when my cat was lost. My heart goes out to you guys.

My heart is breaking for you and Goldfish. Chico was blessed with two people who loved, cherished, respected and adored him, and you were blessed with a fun-loving,sweet, joyous and loyal friend.

Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Steve, I know you have lots to share. You are in a unique place in life and in the world where every day is amazingly beautiful and brutal. I miss it. If I could ask one person in the world to keep up sharing the reality of life it would be you! Hope to hear from you soon.
Dan.
