I'm cleaning the recent photos off the cameras and packing to fly out to Idaho this afternoon to "get some work done". Here is a fellow local blogger, husband and grandson engaging in some multi-generational subsistence salmon fishing right off the beach in front of their house - passing on the tradition.
Lovebirds spending some quality time together by the Dutch Harbor spit.
Cannery cats by Alyeska bunkhouse.
The horses have been hanging out at the far end of Summer Lake the last few times I've rode the pass. It is getting greener by the day, and the lupine is popping out at sea level now.
One of the many neighborhood foxes. You can see the dandelion crop is good this year . . .
Road to the pass - just wide enough as long as you don't want to exit your vehicle.
Bird on a wire.
And I'm outta here! I'll be posting from Idaho, I'm going to try to convince the anesthesiologist to take some pictures during the surgery. Not sure what Sis has in mind for afterwards - hope she knows I'm not painting her house this time through . . . . .

Tried to get that painting done before you came... not much luck :o) I appreciate the offer! Looking forward to seeing you. love ya
Ohh steve those pics are killing me! I love vacation, but seeing all the flowers and green makes me want to be home so much!
Hope all goes well with the surgery..have a great trip!
Steve, prayers for you and best of luck on your shoulder surgery! Like you said, it's worn out because you put a lot of wonderful days behind it. The pics as always are stellar. You have a way of making people feel nostalgic about a place they've never even visited. (Oh, and Goldfish, she seems like my type of gal!)
Good luck on the shoulder surgery. In your downtime, check out Alex's website. He's planning to head out on Berrimilla again soon.
I miss you already ...
:(
Best Wishes Steve! Wishing you a quick recovery too. Liz describes it best - feeling nostalgic about a place you've never been. That's IT! Love the kitties AND the bulls-eye shot!
Good luck and prayers go with you from me. Please do convince someone to take pics during your surgery! Think of the blogging possibilities.
Luck on the surgery! I'll probably fly past you tomorrow; I'll be sure to wave. ;)
Sweet pictures! Good luck in surgery. I hope you get well soon. :)
Candles lit on Sunday for you to heal incredibly fast! Hurry home, but have fun while you are recouperating.
Dang! ALWAYS such GREAT photos! Have a great and smooth flight; we await your posts.

Loved the photos! Hope everything is well and surgery goes off without a hitch. We don't have internet at our shore house so I am not checking in as much as I usually like to! Take care and we'll see you when we all get home.
I envy you your foxes. I've been trying for years to capture ours.
Good luck in Idaho.
I have been horribly remiss in my blog reading time. What a treat to come back to! The photos are amazing (as always). Safe journey to you and prayers for a speedy recovery, oh, and tell Goldfish if she is ever in Texas to look me up and we will go shooting. I pack a 380 Sig Sauer!
I'm back from vaca and now you're gone off to Idaho! Hope all went well in the surgery - well, you haven't posted in over a week so I'm going to assume that you're just taking it easy. Let us all know how you are as soon as possible. I missed you and your blog - need to catch up! AK and Seattle was fantastic! Hard to come home to this awefully hot humid weather.
To Goldfish and Mystic - you go girls!
Awesome! Love the pics of Goldfish! What's she shooting?
And the picture of the fox! Gorgeous.
Have a great time in Idaho.
Goldfish is shooting the Walther PPKS she got for Valentine's Day . . . I'm such a romantic . . .
Great pix Steve hope the shoulder is better
