Winter

The winter is so mild out here compared to other places I've lived in Alaska I was beginning to wonder if it ever came but after a couple weeks of continuous snow coverage and the beginnings of ice on Summers Lake it appears it may have arrived. It is, of course, the wind and waves that make the weather so remarkable out here and I have seen plenty of both . . . just in time for opilio season!

You post the most incredible photos. They make me want to leave Paradise and move to Alaska. Paradise is my home now, and I haven't had a bit of the wanderlust in years. That is, until I started reading your blog. :)

I'll bet it's pretty cold there right now.
We've got rain in our forecast. Can't wait to see pics of the snow.

Hey Sis, I'm sure it's only Alaska that Carol Jo is interested in . . as for visting, there's a spare bedroom but you would have to convince both my sister AND Goldfish that you're harmless first . . .

I love Alaska, and love Unalaska the most of any place in Alaska that I've lived but from traveling I know there is beauty every where. I'd encourage anyone to visit AK but realize it's not everyone's cup of tea . . . .
