Springtime in Unalaska

This pic says it all - the snow is melting fast, the sun has been shining (until this afternoon anyways), folks doing some early season fishing from the beach, someone walking their dog, and if you look closely, one boy inexplicably standing on the roof of his house - yes, spring has sprung!

This week is no fun at work, and Chico and I are missing the Goldfish, but I'll get some pictures and a semi-literate post up tomorrow evening - cheers!

And the boy is wearing shorts...so spring really has arrived. :)

Love the RO church with the white crosses and white picket fence. Yes, it does look like Spring has finally arrived in Unalaska. The boy on the roof is too funny! I miss you posting!

Wonderful picture! Did you take it from the dock?

I agree with Bren...where was this taken from...if you have that view daily i really envy you more! As to the boy on the roof being inexplicable...the words boy and roof are explanation enough!

Bahahahaaaa! You are hilarious!
That boy on the roof is Keifer, Katherine McGlashan's oldest son, fixing his Dad's house which was heavily damaged in a fire last year. I drove by the other day on my way to the bodega and saw him up there working away.
You know its spring when kids get on the roof.

Great shots as usual! I'm so glad that spring has hit home. Kodiak is freeeezing and not quite in spring yet!!

Alena! I remember the fire - actually, when I took the photo from the dock (right-o Sis) I didn't notice Keifer on the roof - it wasn't until I looked at it to post. Having him on the roof makes the whole photo way more interesting for me!

Mel, I'm jealous you're back in Kodiak - i've never been but always wanted to go!

I hate to admit it, Kodiak is like Unalaska, but even better. I can see why there are people from Unalaska everywhere here! I can think of 5 families! OK that's counting Brian who isn't quite here..yet! But I'm heading home and will be very happy to be there. Even though today is clear and sunny here, darn-it!!!!
