I'm really not sure what the eagles were doing beside our car the other day - usually when you see this much activity you also see blood, fur, or feathers along with the tracks. I'm just fascinated by the marks left in the snow by eagle wings - it is my very favorite thing to spot in the winter.
An adult female (the larger of the sexes) has a wing span of over 90 inches so the evidence they leave behind can be truly impressive. Sure wish I could have been looking out the living room window when all the activity happened!
We just got back from a wonderful meal at Elaine's with Care Bear and Neil. It was worth the wait! I'm heading to bed and the gathering storm outside will be the perfect lullaby to send me off to sleep . . . . . just a couple days left until Christmas!

That would indicate the wingtips were down and spread, and scratchings of claws -- mating perhaps?

After Gorging themselves at the Ac Store the past few days that may have been as far as they were able to Fly before collapasing!!
Those silly eagles never remember the Rule to wait one hour before flying after eating a large meal.....
You cant really tell how big they are until you get a picture like that. It gives you a truly incredible reality check. Thanks for sharing.
Talk about some snow angels! That photo really gives you an idea of how big eagles are...much larger than I imagined.
Hope you and Goldie have an amazing Christmas!
Those are awesome shots. I love the way it leaves everyone guessing about what they were doing!

I sent those along to my mom. She was like whoa I didnt realize how big they were. I hope you eventually get to see what they are doing lol.
My son and I were enjoying the beauty of the prints in the snow. There is something magic about them. Maybe it is because I've never seen them any place but on your blog.
Amazing shots!
