Christmas in Dutch

We had a great Christmas with friends over on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.  Mother Nature has finally cooperated and brought us a bit of winter to dress up the island for the season with temperatures to match.  It was great talking to all the family over the past few days - I miss you all!

Santa brought me a big boy camera (a digital SLR) so I guess I'd better get my butt out there and take some big boy photos!  Cheers everyone and happy holidays!

A big boy camera? Wow, can't wait to see how creative you get with it! Your pictures are already awesome, so you shouldn't be feeling any extra pressure to improve. Hope you have a wonderful New Year!

I agree with Kathy. What you can do with a throw-away camera is what I would like to do with my big boy camera! Love ya Thank you for all you do to keep us together.

Ooooooo, new camera! Cool!

I love the almond logs --they look like echidnas :) What's the filling?

It looks like Christmas dinner was quite a feast! If you put little eyes on your cheese balls, they would look like hedgehogs!
I have a Nikon D70 that I adore...I'm looking forward to seeing what great new shots you can get with your new camera! Santa was VERY good to you!

So Steve what days do you have off for New Years? My assistant is finally back so I should be able to take wed, thurs and Fri off if you want to do some island tours!!!

Brian, I'm not sure I have any time off this week - maybe Thursday. Let me know if you need transportation to see the fireworks Wednesday night.

The ones you've got up are GREAT.
How did you make those pine cones with the almonds? It looks delicious.

I Just may Steve. It all Depends on what my duties end up being at the hotel that night, even though I am SUPPOSED to have the day off. (You know how that works in Dutch...LOL). I was going to borrow the white van and maybe bring some friends along but with my new "Get a Room, Not a DUI" Push we may need both of the vans for shuttle service. I Should know more Tomorrow.
Thanks

The almond pine cones have a swiss cheese filling. What you can't see in the pictures is the 6 foot table full of side dishes and desserts. Care Bear did a wonderful job cooking authentic Slavic food for all of us on Christmas!

BZ, Santa left me a Pentax K200, chosen primarily for good reviews and it's the only dust and weather-proof camera in its price class.
